Soliant Education is seeking a qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team in the Wayzata, MN area This full-time, in-person position for the 2024-2025 school year offers a unique chance to make a significant impact on the lives of children ages 3-5 with diverse learning needs by providing them with individualized support in their crucial developmental stages.

What You'll Do:

  • Collaborate with early childhood educators, specialists, therapists, and families to develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) tailored to the specific needs of young learners (ages 3-5) with learning disabilities, developmental delays, behavioral challenges, and other exceptionalities.
  • Utilize a variety of developmentally appropriate and play-based instructional strategies to address diverse learning styles and promote the growth of social-emotional, communication, cognitive, and physical skills in young children with special needs.
  • Create a positive, stimulating, and inclusive learning environment that fosters exploration, curiosity, and a love for learning in young children with diverse needs.
  • Implement specialized instruction and support services aligned with each child's IEP goals, focusing on targeted interventions to address specific learning challenges through engaging activities and play-based approaches.
  • Partner with therapists and specialists to integrate various therapies (e.g., speech therapy, occupational therapy) into the daily routine to support holistic development.
  • Observe, document, and assess student progress, analyze data, and report on the effectiveness of interventions to inform ongoing IEP goals and development plans for young learners.
  • Collaborate with families and provide ongoing support and resources to foster a strong home-school connection and promote continuous learning and development for young children with special needs.
  • Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current on best practices in early childhood special education and evidence-based interventions for young learners.

Making a Difference in Early Learning:

This position allows you to play a vital role in shaping the foundation for learning and development for young children with special needs. You will create a nurturing and stimulating environment where each child feels empowered to explore, learn, and reach their full potential.

Qualifications:

  • Minnesota State Teaching License with an endorsement in Early Childhood Special Education or a related field.
  • Prior experience working with young children with special needs in an early childhood setting (ages 3-5) is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of child development and early intervention practices as they apply to young learners with diverse needs.
  • Expertise in developmentally appropriate and play-based instructional strategies for early childhood special education.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to build strong relationships with young children, parents, early childhood educators, therapists, specialists, and other school staff.
  • Proficiency in observing, documenting, assessing student progress, and reporting on data.
  • A passion for helping young children with special needs thrive in an early childhood setting, fostering a love for learning and building a strong foundation for future academic success.
  • Commitment to collaboration and building a positive home-school connection to support holistic development.
