Job Summary: We are seeking a dedicatedand compassionate Mental Health Provider to deliver vital mentalhealth services to inmates within a county jail system. The idealcandidate will possess either a master's degree in counseling orsocial work. This is a challenging yet rewarding opportunity topositively impact individuals' lives during an importanttime.  Location: Boone CountyJail  OpenPosition: RNPsych, Licensed Professional Counselor LPC or MSW (Masters inSocial Work) Schedule: 8 hrs per week, FlexibleSchedule  KeyResponsibilities:
  • Conduct initial and ongoing assessments of inmates'mental health needs, utilizing standardized assessment tools andclinical interviews.
  • Develop and implementindividualized treatment plans, focusing on stabilization,skill-building, and preparation for re-entry into thecommunity.
  • Provide individual and groupcounseling services, addressing a range of issues such as substanceabuse, trauma, anger management, and coping skills.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, includingcorrections staff, medical professionals, and probation officers toensure comprehensive care.
  • Facilitatereferrals to internal programs and external community resources forongoing support upon release.
  • Maintainaccurate, timely documentation of assessments, treatment plans,sessions, and other relevant information.
  • Staycurrent with best practices in correctional mental health and seekout opportunities for professional growth.
Qualifications:
  • Master'sLevel: Master’s degree in counseling or social work.Current licensure (LPC, MSW, etc.) and eligibility forcertification in correctional mental health (preferred).
  • Knowledge of evidence-based practices for working withjustice-involved populations.
  • Excellentclinical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, potentiallychallenging environment.
  • Commitment tocultural competence and working with diversepopulations.
  • RegisteredNurse:  Minimum of 2 years of experience inpsychiatric nursing
  • Experience working withdiverse patient populations and diagnoses (e.g., substance abuse,personality disorders, psychosis)
  • Correctionalhealth experience preferred, but not required
 Working Conditions:
  • This position is within a county jailsetting.
  • Must be able to pass a backgroundcheck and adhere to all security protocols.
  • Ability to work designated shift.
