Key Responsibilities:

  • Tailored Instruction: Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) that cater to the unique strengths and needs of each student, ensuring access to the curriculum.

  • Assessment and Monitoring: Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to promote academic growth.

  • Behavioral Support: Create and apply positive behavior intervention plans (PBIPs) to enhance students' social-emotional development and classroom behavior.

  • Collaboration: Collaborate with general education teachers, support staff, and families to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment for all students.

  • Professional Development: Engage in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance instructional practices and stay current with best practices in special education.

  • Advocacy: Advocate for students needs within the school community, promoting awareness and understanding of diverse learning challenges.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or a related field from an accredited institution.

  • Licensure: Valid Special Education certification in the state of Colorado is required.

  • Experience: Previous experience working with students with special needs is highly desirable.

  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills. Ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.

  • Approach: A student-centered mindset focused on promoting inclusion and supporting the diverse needs of the classroom.
