Chipton-Ross is seeking a Software Engineer 4 for a contract/hybrid opportunity in Seattle, WA.

*This position is HYBRID, 3 days onsite.

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
o Responsible for designing and building solutions that best meet the business needs and are aligned with the IT strategy and roadmaps.
o Responsible for refining existing software products or implementing new technologies to solve a variety of business problems.
o Strong background in architecture with real-world experience of architecting, designing, and delivering software products.
o Work with Portfolio Architect to define long-term technology roadmaps across multiple software products.
o Ability to build strong relationships across the business and IT. Able to understand the long-term needs of the solution you are developing and enable delivery by building a rapport with team members both inside and outside of the organization.
o Good interpersonal skills including the ability to relate complex topics in simple and accessible language.
o Experience working with major cloud application development platforms (Azure, AWS)
o Experience with cloud middleware software solutions (Azure Service Bus, AWS EventBridge Event Bus, Rabbit MQ)
o Experience with REST or SOAP APIs

HARD REQUIREMENTS:
If hired, successful completion of training is a contingency for this assignment.

REQUIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o 8+ years of experience in the IT/Software Services Industry
o 2+ years of experience as a solution, system, or application architect designing and delivering scalable, performant solutions.
o 6+ years of experience writing and testing software.
o Experience with modern technology development practices including but not limited to DevSecOps; continuous integration / continuous delivery; test automation; agile development and work management.
o Experience with products AWS and/or Azure cloud platform
o Excellent working knowledge of the entire software development life-cycle.
o Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
o Working knowledge of MS SQL Server and/or Oracle.
o Working knowledge of cloud middleware software solutions (Azure Service Bus, AWS EventBridge Event Bus, Rabbit MQ)
o Working knowledge of REST or SOAP AP
o Regular and predictable attendance is required

DESIRED SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS:
o Master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
o Experience in a general-purpose programming language including but not limited to: Java, C#, Java web framework (Spring), modern JavaScript frameworks.
o Certifications in AWS and/or Azure Architecture
o Training Solutions application experience
o Campus Scheduling technology, platforms, and applications experience (Qualtero (BKS) Fox)
o Relative Certifications (Azure, AWS) or additional education

EDUCATION:
Minimum of a Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
