Maintain accreditation standards as well meet compliance with SACSCOC (Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges) standards and principles. Facilitate staffing, assist with budget preparation and maintenance, facilitate curriculum development, recruitment, advising, and program marketing.Required Qualifications:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate with the Academic Dean in strategic and academic cycle planning at the college, division, program, advisory committee and course levels, including development and maintenance of experiential and clinical affiliation agreements and clinical and experiential partnerships to augment the academic programs to include the LVN to RN program and the ADN Program.
  • Develop the master Schedule to reflect each concept to be taught on each level, the time the indicated instruction will occur, and what the instructor will teach each topic on a single calendar. Subsequently cross-reference the master calendar for conflicts of classrooms or teaching assignments and resolving any conflicts for both programs.
  • Direct day-to-day management and evaluation of the programs, associate faculty, staff, facilities, and resources to accomplish safe and effective program delivery and coordination of division activities and projects. Assist the Academic Dean with full-time faculty supervision as necessary.
  • Assist the Academic Dean in the on-going, systematic evaluation of the division, programs, curriculum, learning resources, and student learning outcomes including production and preservation of program/student records.
  • Facilitate management and planning of programs budget. Work with the Academic Dean to make budget requests and recommendations. Ensure programs remain within identified budgets. Assist the Academic Dean in the fiscal planning and management of the programs and its resources.
  • Assist the Academic Dean with maintaining the Systematic Program Evaluation (SPE) as required by the Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN). This consists of retrieving data from all nursing faculty committees, processing/analyzing the data for inclusion within the SPE, and collecting survey results from the Institutional Research Office (IRO).
  • Maintain accurate and complete program records including curriculum and resource evaluation and development, systematic evaluation, course evaluation, student evaluation, and accreditation documents from both programs.
  • Maintain regulatory compliance associated with the program's field of practice and education, including implementation of college policy and division and program procedures, compliance with the Texas Higher Education Coordination Board standards and compliance with appropriate regulatory and educational accreditation standards including the production of accreditation self-study documents and reports.
  • Assist the Academic Dean in the operation of faculty search committees and provide recommendations for full-time faculty, associate faculty, and staff hires.
  • Foster positive human relations and teamwork among faculty, staff, and students, and across all programs and college services.
  • Manage appropriate student admission, advisement, progression, graduation, certification, and licensing processes for both programs.
  • Attend and participate in professional development activities and participate in service to the college, including college graduation.

Physical Demands, Working Conditions and Physical Effort
Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly having to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for the Sedentary Work category and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated Light Work. Positions in this class typically include talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions, plus stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching. Relatively free from unpleasant environmental conditions or hazards. Office environment. Occasional physical effort required.

Requirements
Master's degree in Nursing from an accredited institution is required. Master's degree in Nursing Education, Doctoral degree in Nursing or related field from an accredited institution preferred.
Five (5) years of related clinical experience in a discipline of nursing. Three (3) years of teaching experience in a professional nursing education program. Two (2) year of supervisory experience required.
Experience as a director of an associate or baccalaureate nursing program preferred.

Licenses and Certifications
Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Texas
