Job Title: Speech-Language Pathologist

Location: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologist to join our team in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The successful candidate will provide top-notch speech and language services to students, working closely with educators and families to support and enhance student communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform comprehensive assessments to identify speech and language disorders in students.
  • Design and implement individualized treatment plans and IEPs tailored to each student's needs.
  • Deliver direct therapy services to students with a variety of communication disorders.
  • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to ensure student progress.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate records of student assessments, progress, and therapy sessions.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and professional development opportunities.
  • Provide consultation and training to school staff and parents on speech and language development strategies.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).
  • Pennsylvania state license as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education certification as an Educational Specialist Speech and Language Pathologist.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred but not required.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Required Licensure and Certifications:

  • Pennsylvania Speech-Language Pathologist License
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA
  • Pennsylvania Department of Education Certification as an Educational Specialist Speech and Language Pathologist
  • Passing scores on the relevant Praxis exams (if mandated by the state)

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to perform job duties, which may include lifting, bending, sitting, and standing for prolonged periods.
  • Capacity to manage the physical demands of working with young children and students with special needs.
