Job Summary

Comcast's Technology, Product & Experience organization works at the intersection of media and technology. Our innovative teams are continually developing and delivering products that transform the customer experience. The team also develops and supports our evolving network architecture, including next-generation consumer systems and technologies, infrastructure and engineering, network integration and management tools, and technical standards. In most cases, Comcast prefers to have employees on-site collaborating unless the team has been designated as virtual due to the nature of their work.About the team: The focus of our Global Device Ops team on designing and developing Behavior-Driven Development (BDD) for new and optimized End-to-End (E2E) test plans on RDK stacks.

Job Description

Key Job Responsibilities:

1. DevOps Practices:

  • Develop on new capabilities and solving problems programmatically.
  • Develop processes improvements to increase team velocity.
  • Collaborate with other Engineers. Integrates knowledge of business and functional priorities. Acts as a key contributor in a complex and crucial environment.

2. BDD and Test Automation Expertise:

  • Have a good understanding of Business-Driven Development strategy.
  • Explore advanced topics such as test data management, scenario refactoring, and integrating BDD with continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines.
  • Develop, and execute high-quality test plans efficiently on RDK stacks while leveraging automation and tooling to detect defects quickly and ensure the reliability of test coverages.

3. Tooling and Test Automation Infrastructure:

  • Get familiar with automation tools and frameworks for test development, execution, and reporting.
  • Maintaining test automation infrastructure, including selecting appropriate tools, configuring environments, and integrating with version control systems.

4. Reliability Engineering and Test Coverage Optimization:

  • Explore strategies for optimizing test coverage, such as risk-based testing, equivalence partitioning, and prioritizing critical paths.
  • Practice DevOps to reduce the time between quality assurance and deployment of the software.

5. Collaboration and Communication Skills:

  • Effectively communicate and collaborate within the team and with stakeholders.
  • Practice agile methodologies to enhance teamwork and productivity.
  • Participate in cross-functional activities such as joint sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospective meetings to foster alignment and shared understanding across teams.

6. Continuous Learning and Improvement:

REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field, and two (2) years of experience in validating video and broadband product architecture utilizing RDK/TDK suite; define and develop test automation using the following: Java J2EE, Spring, Jenkins, Tomcat, Python, MySQL, GIT and Maven; and deploy using Agile or Scrum in a DevOps environment
