Please contact your Human Resources office for an evaluation of education/experience in lieu of the required minimum qualifications.Preferred Qualifications:Experienced LVT able to work within Small Animal Emergency room, ICU or Intermediate Care required.Preferred experience with Infectious Disease care within an Isolation unitPreferred ability to work weekends, overnight shifts and holidaysPosition Summary:The Intermediate Care LVT is responsible for providing 24 hour nursing care to patients that are recovering from surgery or illness and are in the process of being released to return home to their owners.Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies:Licensed or ability to be licensed as a Licensed Veterinary Technician within the state of Georgia. Able to utilize technical skills on all levels of patients that are recovering with the following:Collection of blood, urine by expression, cystocentesis or catheterizationCollection and preparation of tissue, cellular, or microbiological samples by skin scraping, impressionsRoutine laboratory test proceduresRadiology including settings, positioning, processing, and safetyIntravenous and arterial catheterizationAdministration and application of treatments, drugs, fluids, medications and immunological agents by oral, parenteral and injectable routes.
