Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of students with severe disabilities? Soliant Education is seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our team in the scenic Ben Lomond, CA area for the 2024-2025 school year. As a Special Education Teacher working with a severely handicapped caseload, you will have the opportunity to provide specialized instruction and support to students with significant cognitive, physical, and developmental needs.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and instructional strategies tailored to the unique needs and abilities of students with severe disabilities.
- Provide direct instruction in academic subjects, functional life skills, communication, and social-emotional development, utilizing specialized techniques and assistive technology.
- Collaborate with paraprofessionals, therapists, and other support staff to implement students' IEP goals and ensure consistency across settings.
- Adapt and modify curriculum materials, assessments, and instructional methods to meet the diverse learning needs of students with severe disabilities.
- Create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued, respected, and empowered to succeed.
- Maintain ongoing communication with parents/guardians, providing regular updates on student progress and collaborating on strategies for support.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
- California state certification or eligibility for certification as a Special Education Teacher.
- Experience working with students with severe disabilities in a special education setting preferred.
- Strong understanding of evidence-based practices and instructional strategies for students with significant cognitive, physical, and developmental needs.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive learning environment where all students can thrive.
