Job Overview:

Soliant Education is actively seeking a passionate and dynamic Physical Education (PE) Teacher to fill a full-time position for the remainder of the school year in a supportive school district located in Burnham, IL. This role offers the chance to make a significant impact on students' lives by promoting health, fitness, and well-being. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic about encouraging students to adopt healthy lifestyles and participate in physical activities.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive physical education programs that cater to the needs and levels of all students.
  • Foster a safe, positive, and supportive environment in which students can learn and develop physical fitness skills and healthful habits.
  • Teach a variety of physical activities that promote physical fitness, coordination, sportsmanship, and the understanding of rules and strategies of sports.
  • Assess student learning and progress through observation and formal assessments, providing feedback that supports student growth.
  • Collaborate with school staff to organize sports days, health fairs, and other school-wide physical education events.
  • Engage with parents and the school community to promote participation in physical activity both in and outside of school.
  • Stay current with the latest physical education practices, standards, and safety guidelines.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or related field.
  • Valid Illinois teaching certification in Physical Education or ability to obtain certification before the start of the contract.
  • Previous experience in teaching PE or related field preferred, but not required.
  • Strong understanding of physical education curriculum and strategies to engage all students in physical activity.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to participate in physical activities.
  • Demonstrated commitment to professional development in the field of physical education and health.
