We are in need of a Jr. Network Engineer for our client located in the Osceola, AR area. This position would be a hybrid role requiring 3 days a week on site.  Currently our client is working with a third-party vendor to manage the wireless switch from Cisco Meraki to Cisco Catalyst. 

Job Overview: As a Junior Network Associate, you will assist in the management, maintenance, and support of our network infrastructure with a primary focus on Cisco Catalyst switches. You will work closely with senior network engineers to ensure optimal network performance, reliability, and security.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Network Support: Assist in the configuration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of Cisco Catalyst switches and other network equipment.
  • Installation and Maintenance: Support the installation, setup, and ongoing maintenance of network hardware and software, ensuring compliance with company standards.
  • Monitoring: Regularly monitor network performance and connectivity issues, using network management tools and diagnostic equipment.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations, changes, and incidents to ensure effective tracking and reporting.
  • Assistance: Provide technical support to internal teams and end-users regarding network-related issues, including connectivity problems and hardware malfunctions.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior network engineers and IT staff to resolve complex network issues and implement network upgrades and improvements.
  • Security: Assist in implementing network security measures, including access controls and monitoring for potential security threats.
  • Training: Participate in ongoing training and development to stay current with industry trends, technologies, and Cisco Catalyst features.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience in a network support or related role is preferred.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Basic knowledge of Cisco Catalyst switches and their configuration.
    • Familiarity with networking concepts including VLANs, IP addressing, and routing.
    • Understanding of network protocols and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Certifications: Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) or equivalent is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
    • Eagerness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methods.

  • the individual’s skill sets, experience and training;
  • licensure and certification requirements;
  • office location and other geographic considerations;

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
