Job Type: Full-Time, 37.5 hours per week
Contract Duration: August 5th, 2024 - May 23rd, 2025
Caseload/Details:
- 2 positions at the High School level, providing 1:1 support.
- 3 positions at the Middle School level, providing 1:1 support.
Onsite or Virtual: Onsite
Special Requirements:
- EIPA Score of 3.5+ and 4.0 on the ESSE or KQAS assessments, OR
- RID membership with NIC or EDcertification.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Sign Language Interpreter (SLI).
- Experience working with students in educational settings preferred.
Job Description: We are seeking qualified Sign Language Interpreters (SLIs) to join our team in Kansas City, KS for the 2024-2025 school year. The successful candidates will provide 1:1 support to students at the High School and Middle School levels.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide interpreting and transliterating services to facilitate communication between deaf or hard of hearing students and their peers, teachers, and staff.
- Follow student IEPs and educational plans to ensure effective communication access.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to create inclusive learning environments.
- Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all interactions.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a school-based setting.
