Based on the recent Proclamation: Restriction on Entry of Certain Nonimmigrant Workers (H-1B), VSU will not be sponsoring any new H-1B visa petitions until further notice.Responsibilities Department SummaryValdosta State University invites applicants to apply for an adjunct (part-time) position in the Department of History. Hiring occurs on an as needed, limited-term basis. Successful candidates may teach on-campus or electronically and have the ability to work with students and staff.Screening of candidates begins immediately. Adjunct (part-time) faculty must perform duties associated with teaching at the post-secondary level. These include (but are not limited to): preparing lectures and their class instructional materials; preparing and leading class discussion; providing prompt responses to student questions and inquiries as well as prompt and appropriate feedback on tests, quizzes, and assignments; and following VSU policies and procedures related to teaching. Typical Allocation of Duties: 100% Teaching Required Qualifications Must have earned a graduate degree from a regionally accredited university with at least 18 graduate credit hours in a related field.Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and learningPreferred Qualifications Ability to work effectively in a collaborative settingA record of mentoring students Teaching experience at the college level both online and face-to-face.Proposed Salary Commensurate with experience.
