Join our team as a Remote Special Education Teacher and make a meaningful difference in the lives of students across Montana. In this role, you will leverage your expertise in special education to deliver personalized instruction, facilitate individualized learning plans, and empower students to achieve their full potential from the comfort of your own home.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop Individualized Education Plans (IEPs): Collaborate with students, families, educators, and IEP teams to develop comprehensive and individualized education plans that address students' unique learning needs, strengths, and goals. Ensure that IEPs are aligned with state standards and regulations.

  2. Deliver Differentiated Instruction: Provide direct instruction and support to students with diverse learning profiles, including those with learning disabilities, developmental delays, and behavioral challenges. Utilize evidence-based instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications to meet students' needs and facilitate academic growth.

  3. Utilize Assistive Technology: Integrate assistive technology and educational tools into instruction to enhance accessibility, engagement, and learning outcomes for students with disabilities. Provide training and support to students and educators on the use of assistive technology devices and software.

  4. Monitor Progress and Adjust Instruction: Regularly assess students' progress and performance using formative and summative assessments. Use data to inform instructional decisions, modify teaching strategies, and differentiate instruction to address individual learning needs and promote student success.

  5. Collaborate with School Teams: Work collaboratively with general education teachers, paraprofessionals, related service providers, and other members of the educational team to ensure coordinated support for students with disabilities. Participate in team meetings, professional development activities, and parent conferences to promote student achievement and well-being.

  6. Foster Positive Relationships: Establish and maintain positive, supportive relationships with students, families, and caregivers to facilitate meaningful engagement and collaboration. Provide guidance, encouragement, and support to students as they navigate their educational journey.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field.
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education in Montana (or eligibility for certification).
  • Experience working with students with disabilities in educational settings, preferably in a remote or virtual environment.
  • Knowledge of special education laws, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfort with technology and proficiency in remote teaching platforms and tools.
