Cardiac Stepdown RN Job Details Location: Fairmont, WV 26554 (North-Central West Virginia) Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Cardiac Stepdown/Med Surg Unit (20 beds) Assignment Length: 13-week travel nursing contract Shift: 12-hour day shifts, 36 hours per week Schedule: Friday-Sunday or Saturday-Monday Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week Estimated Weekly Salary: $1820-$1950 Charting System: EPIC electronic health records Dress Code: Royal blue scrubs Registered Nurse Qualifications Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in West Virginia or compact state Minimum 1 year of recent cardiac stepdown or progressive care experience BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required) Proficient in titrating critical drips (Heparin, insulin, Cardizem, amiodarone) Experience with respiratory support equipment (CPAP, BiPAP, high flow oxygen) Strong clinical skills in cardiac and med-surg nursing Must provide a valid, unexpired driver’s license Cardiac Stepdown Nurse Responsibilities Deliver direct patient care in the Cardiac Stepdown/Med Surg unit Monitor and titrate cardiac and critical care drips as needed Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualized patient care plans Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members, including nurse aides and respiratory therapists Interpret and document cardiac monitor strips Utilize EPIC charting system for accurate patient documentation Participate in rotating weekend and holiday schedules Ensure compliance with hospital policies and clinical procedures Discover the charm of Fairmont, WV—nestled in north-central West Virginia, this location offers small-town hospitality, beautiful parks, rivers, and local attractions.
