Job Title: Research Associate - Elewa Lab Department: Biology Department Worker Type: Temporary (Fixed Term) Pay Type: Salary Benefit Eligible: Yes Job Description Summary: The Elewa lab is recruiting a full-time, temporary position for 6 months for a research associate to conduct research in the area of parental effects on embryo development in the nematode C. elegans. The lab investigates how external environments and life experiences are represented in an individual's gametes and decoded by their offspring to produce regulated and heritable variation in form and function. Job Description Essential Duties: The current aim is to identify experience-dependent post-translational modification signatures on maternal proteins deposited in embryos. The candidate will mostly work on optimizing and documenting protocols for large-scale C. elegans growth and protein purification from wildtype and mutant backgrounds. Additional work may include data analysis, assistance with manuscript preparation, coordinating collaborative projects, and training graduate and undergraduate students in experimental design, data collection, and analysis. Minimum Qualifications: Required: Master's degree (or equivalent experience) in biology or related fields, and experience in relevant genetic, molecular, and biochemical techniques. Prior C. elegans experience is not required. Experience in collaborative research and training students.
