Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and qualified Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) and/or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join our school-based team in Morris, IL. The SLP/SLPA will be responsible for providing assessment, diagnosis, and therapy for students with speech, language, and communication disorders, supporting their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • For SLP:

    • Conduct comprehensive assessments to diagnose speech, language, voice, and fluency disorders in students.
    • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment results.
    • Provide direct therapy services to students, both individually and in group settings.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to integrate therapy goals into the classroom environment.
    • Participate in IEP meetings, contributing to the development and review of student-specific goals and objectives.
    • Monitor and document student progress, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of evaluations, therapy sessions, and progress reports.
  • For SLPA:

    • Assist the SLP in conducting assessments and evaluations.
    • Implement treatment plans developed by the SLP, providing direct therapy services to students.
    • Conduct therapy sessions as directed by the SLP, both individually and in group settings.
    • Monitor and document student progress, reporting findings to the supervising SLP.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school staff to support students' communication and learning goals.
    • Assist in developing and adapting materials and activities for therapy sessions.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of therapy sessions and student progress.

Qualifications:

  • For SLP:

    • Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
    • Valid SLP license or certification in Illinois.
    • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.
    • Experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • For SLPA:

    • Bachelors degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or a related field.
    • Valid SLPA license or certification in Illinois.
    • Previous experience working with students with speech and language disorders is preferred.
    • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
