The Plant Controllerposition is accountable for the overall integrity, accuracy andcompleteness of financial results and safeguarding of plant assetsfor a multi-line, and has significant operational and SKUcomplexity. The Controller is a key member of the OperationsManagement team and engages in all aspects of operations to providetimely and comprehensive financial leadership to the PlantManagement team. This role is also responsible for developing andmanaging, hourly and possibly salaried level direct reportsresponsible for the day to day accounting, reporting and inventorycontrol for the operations at the respective plant. Working withthe other Manufacturing Accounting Managers, Plant Management, theNorth American Business Unit Finance Team, and otherControllers.

Key Accountabilities

  • Accurate and timely financialreporting.
  • Balance sheet oversight andreconciliation.
  • Forecasting & budgetplanning.
  • Capital expenditure analysis andreporting.
  • Accurate cost analysis.
  • Compliance with internal controls and corporatepolicies.
  • Statutory reporting asrequired.
  • Completion of internal and externalaudits.
  • Support continuous operational andfinancial results improvement with focus on costsavings.
  • Manage and develop directreports.

Financial Reporting andControls/Compliance:

  • Overallresponsibility for the plant operations financial results anddelivery of accurate timely results in accordance withInternational Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and GenerallyAccepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), company processes/proceduresand statutory regulations. Achieves this through working closelywith the Plant Management team, Cost Accounting/InventoryManagement and Supply Chain Finance teams.
  • Work with Plant Management teams to set annual standardsand production yields for financial reporting and costinganalysis.
  • Provide financial guidance andsupport to Plant Management with proactive communication ofaccounting/reporting issues and recommendations.
  • Provide guidance/input to Management on key businessdecisions that enable effective and efficient operations anddelivery of cost savings.
  • Provide guidance toPlant Management in the origination of capital expenditurerequests. Prepare/review financial support for the capex requestsensuring compliance to Refresco policy and robust accurateprojections of costs and savings generated by the project. Performpost capital expenditure audits and reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with key control procedures andcorporate policies and procedures at the local level plantmanagement team to ensure the overall financial integrity of theplant financial information and safeguarding of assets.
  • Weekly/monthly working capital reporting. Work with Plantmanagement to manage effective working capital utilization and cashflows. Significant areas of focus being inventories and capex cashflows.
  • Maintain open communication with peersto foster a consistent approach in the financial management of thelocal operating units.
  • Provide support forexternal and internal audits at the operating facilities. Completeother ad-hoc reporting requests

Budgeting/Forecasting:

  • Manage the weekly/monthly/quarterly flash forecastprocess with the Plant Management team to deliver accurateforecasted results. Appropriate identification of risks andopportunities.
  • Lead the development of theAnnual Operating Plan for plant

Business Analysis Support:

  • Collaborate with the Plant Management Team to identifyand recommend process improvements that will deliver financialbenefits or mitigate financial risks. Analyze financial data tofacilitate decision making process at the plant managementlevel.

Requirements

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or a related field plusfive to seven (5-7) years related work experience in manufacturingor industrial environment.

  • CPA, CMAor equivalent designation
  • Manufacturing/costing experience
  • Staff management experience
  • Food andBeverage related manufacturing is a plus.

Skills and Competencies:

  • ITLiterate (Microsoft Office)
  • ERP Systemexperience (SAP preferred)
  • Strong analyticalskills
  • Proven strategic problem solvingskills

  • US GAAP/IFRS knowledge

Working Conditions

  • Physical - Regular requirements to sit and enter data inthe computer. Standing, walking and climbing inside and outside ofplant buildings.
  • Visual/Sensory - Thisposition requires to be able to work long hours in front of thecomputer

  • Mental Stress - There ispronounced pressure from meeting deadlines, schedules and accuracyof work output.
