Key Responsibilities:

Individualized Instruction: Develop and implement engaging lesson plans tailored to meet the unique needs of each student, fostering their academic and social-emotional growth.

Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers, parents, and support staff to create a cohesive educational experience. Your expertise will help shape inclusive classrooms where all students can thrive.

Behavioral Support: Design and implement positive behavior intervention strategies to support students' behavioral and emotional needs, ensuring a safe and productive learning environment.

Assessment and Progress Monitoring: Conduct regular assessments to evaluate student progress, adjust instructional strategies, and provide constructive feedback to students and families.

IEP Development: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop, review, and implement Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) that align with students goals and objectives.

Professional Development: Stay updated on the latest educational practices and trends in special education. Engage in ongoing professional development to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge.

Qualifications:
  • Certification: Valid Missouri Special Education Certification is required.
  • Education: Bachelors degree in Special Education, Education, or a related field is required; a Masters degree is a plus.
  • Experience: Previous experience as a Special Education Teacher or in a similar role is highly desirable, especially in developing and implementing IEPs.
  • Skills: Strong communication, organizational, and collaboration skills. Ability to create a supportive and engaging learning environment that caters to diverse learning styles.
