We are in search of a meticulous Legal Secretary to be part of our team based in Syosset, New York. The role primarily involves providing administrative support to attorneys and legal teams, managing legal documents, and coordinating with clients and court officials. The position offers a short term contract employment opportunity. Responsibilities:• Draft, format, and proofread legal documents like pleadings, motions, contracts, and correspondence.• Ensure the preparation and filing of legal documents with courts, complying with deadlines and court procedures.• Manage and organize case files, ensuring all documents are accurately labeled and easily accessible.• Oversee attorneys' calendars, schedule appointments, and coordinate meetings with clients, witnesses, and court officials.• Handle incoming calls, emails, and other correspondence, directing inquiries to the appropriate attorney or legal team member.• Serve as the first point of contact for clients, providing professional service.• Assist with client intake processes, gathering necessary information and documentation.• Maintain confidentiality of client information and handle sensitive matters with discretion.• Coordinate the preparation and submission of court documents, including e-filing where applicable.• Conduct basic legal research to assist attorneys with case preparation.• Assist with the preparation of case summaries, reports, and presentations for internal use.• Manage billing processes, including tracking billable hours and preparing invoices for clients.• Utilize legal software such as Aderant, Adobe Acrobat, and Automated City Register Information System (ACRIS) for various tasks.• Perform client relations and calendar management tasks efficiently. • Ensure smooth court proceedings and draft legal documents as required.• Demonstrate proficiency in typing and other skills related to the role.Sy
