Job Summary and QualificationsThe Administrative Care Tech contributes to high quality, patient-centered care by performing a variety of clerical and patient-related services to support departmental operations. The Administrative Care Tech functions as receptionist for the unit and assists the patient care team with patient centered secretarial tasks while maintaining a clean, well-organized, and safe patient environment. As a member of the patient care team, the Administrative Care Tech also assists the nursing staff in providing basic patient care, in accordance to the individual’s training, hospital policies, and state regulations for delegated nursing tasks by unlicensed personnel.
What you will do in this role:
- Greet patients and visitors in waiting areas, directing them to other departments, and keeping them informed of wait times.
- Promotes a positive, customer-oriented demeanor.
- Perform patient-centered secretarial tasks, such as physician order entry and creating, labeling, and organizing patient charts. Disassemble and file charts after discharge.
- Maintain patient confidentiality at all times.
- Perform rounding and respond to call lights and patient requests.
- Assist in the setup, removal, and cleaning of equipment.
- Identify malfunctioning equipment and initiate repairs.
- Monitor unit and patient rooms to assess availability of supplies.

What qualifications you will need:- High School Graduate / GED
- Basic Cardiac Life Support
- Medical Technology Course or other vocational training preferred

Medical City Plano opened in 1975 and provides Plano and Collin County with advanced health care. Medical City Plano is a 600+ bed acute care hospital. We have more than 2,000 employees and over 1,400 physicians on staff. Our main campus in Plano has a cancer treatment center and cardiovascular programs.
