The Role of the Pool & Beach Manager
The Pool & Beach Manager is dedicated to providing guests with a memorable and exceptional experience by consistently adhering to all pool and beach standards. As a team player, the manager ensures the efficient functioning of the department and offers support to the Ocean Blu outlet when required. Strong swimming skills and CPR training are highly recommended. Responsibilities include maintaining and managing equipment and surrounding areas, ensuring they are in excellent condition. The ideal candidate is helpful, energetic, and willing to assist in other areas as needed, demonstrating flexibility and a proactive approach to guest satisfaction and operational excellence.
Key Functions
Reports on working punctually and in accordance with dress code and appearance standards.
Ensure that all equipment and surrounding areas are clean.
Ensure that all staff report to work and set up the pool in a timely manner.
Attend training and information exchange sessions with other staff members.
Consistently train staff to reach their full potential.
Adhere to quality standards established in the department.
Maintain Ritchie Standards.
Provide information and equipment to each guest to maximize their enjoyment of the facility.
Knowledge & Skills
Education: Applicants are required to have three to five years of experience in diverse operations management positions.
Experience: A college degree, preferably specializing in hotel/restaurant management or business administration, is required. Equivalent experience in these fields is also acceptable.
Skills & Abilities:
Hospitality Management: Understanding the principles of hospitality management, including guest service, facility operations, housekeeping, reservations, and concierge services, with a focus on pool and beach areas.
Business Acumen: Knowledge of business operations, including budgeting, forecasting, revenue management, and financial reporting specific to pool and beach management.
Technology: Proficiency in management software systems relevant to pool and beach operations, including reservation and maintenance tracking systems.
Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead, motivate, and manage a diverse team, fostering a positive work environment and promoting professional growth.
Customer Service Excellence: Exceptional skills in managing guest experiences, handling complaints, and ensuring guest satisfaction within the pool and beach context.
Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of effective interaction with guests, staff, and external stakeholders.
Safety and Emergency Response: Proficiency in safety protocols, including CPR and lifeguard training, to ensure guest safety and respond to emergencies effectively.
Problem-Solving: Proficiency in identifying problems, analyzing potential solutions, and making decisive, effective decisions.
Organizational Skills: Aptitude for managing multiple tasks and priorities, scheduling, and ensuring smooth operations across pool and beach areas.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail, ensuring all aspects of pool and beach areas meet or exceed hospitality standards.
