Summary

In this position you will work as a member of the Region 8 Recovery Division, Public Assistance Branch. The ideal candidate for this position will have experience engaging state, local, and/or tribal partners for the purposes of recovery coordination on cross cutting topics to aid pre-recovery efforts and enable resilient recovery after a natural disaster. Duties

What will I do in this position if hired?

In this position, you will support steady state initiative on cross agency networking and relationship building, develop a comprehensive understanding of recovery resources, and assist with building internal and external capacity with recovery efforts. Typical assignments include:

  • Representing the agency with Federal partners and collaborating to improve disaster recovery efforts for states, cities, and tribes within Region 8.
  • Facilitates cross divisional collaboration to maintain continuity on pre-recovery activities.
  • Builds disaster recovery partnerships across the federal interagency, state, local, and tribal territories, and non-government organizations.
  • Facilitates external federal and state partnership discussions on disaster recovery topics.
  • Assists with developing strategic goals and tracks progress made on interagency long-term recovery objectives/projects; completing outcome analysis, lessons learned, and best practices.
  • Addresses unmet needs that have been identified by a joint field office, state, local, or tribal territories and coordinate with partners to identify alternate recovery resources.

Travel requirements in support of emergency operations may be extensive in nature (weeks to months), with little advance notice, and may require employees to relocate to emergency sites with physically austere and operationally challenging conditions.
