The Role:

 Here’s What You’ll Do:

Collaborate closely with lab groups, EHS, supply chain, IT, and other teams to ensure efficient, organized, and safe laboratory operations Manage the lab operations team to maintain seamless day-to-day operations Support operation excellence efforts that impact multiple departments Projects may include standardization of similar functions and workflows across multiple departments, such as tissue culture or cold unit organization, writing SOPs or work instructions, etc. Lab Asset Management: Service agreement management, including advising on appropriate coverage levels and budget accountability CMMS Administration CapEx and OpEx equipment approvals, reviews, purchases, etc. Standardization of commonly used equipment across the company Managing installations and trainings Generating requirements for, planning, and scheduling preventative maintenance and calibrations Assists with lab space planning and relocations Develop and implement tools, as needed, to support rapidly expanding laboratory operations Examples are SOPS, protocols, lab manuals, work instructions, scheduling tools, etc. Responding to Work Requests involving lab equipment Collaborate cross functionally to utilize knowledge and expertise to improve systems and processes across the company

 

Requirements:

5+ years of lab manager experience, particularly in cell or gene therapy labs Experience managing a team in a fast paced environment Familiarity with common laboratory practices, equipment, and safety standards Experience with procurement and purchasing systems, such as SAP Experience with asset management software, such as Blue Mountain RAM Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other common collaboration software Demonstrated ability to collaborate in a team-oriented environment Proven ability to identify and resolve technical and operational issues Excellent time-management and organizational skills
