Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
Serves as a member of the Bureau of Labor Statistics Publishing staff with responsibility for assisting in the production and coordination to develop professional-level graphics, publications, and visual material.
Assists with creative projects, demonstrating knowledge of visual arts methods and design best practices, and translating ideas and concepts into high-quality print and online products; including brand development, digital design, print promotions, and other graphic art-related projects.
Provides graphic support for all Bureau of Labor Statistics publications (e.g., Monthly Labor Review, Beyond the Numbers, Spotlight on Statistics), as well as input on planning and carrying out the visual information aspects of the publishing office.
Assists with the development and production of designs, as well as consult with subject matter experts to and provide visual materials for the Bureau of Labor Statistics public website, a range of presentations formats, and various internal communication channels.
Collaborates with coworkers and project team members to create and produce original digital design materials, such as videos, social media marketing, motion graphics, charts, maps, and other visual information.
Assists with the evaluation of new products, technology, and methodologies for improvement to capabilities and services for the graphics and printing section, as well as informing the staff and others how new technology can benefit the publishing processes at the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
