Need for dynamic personnel for our Metal Recycling Facility in the Shredder department at The Port of Brownsville, Texas. Candidates will be part of a production driven team, assisting in material preparation and gathering material by hand, daily housekeeping duties and assist with performing preventative maintenance procedures on our machinery and equipment.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform general construction labor to include job site clean-up and moving of materials by hand as picker labor in the shredder department.
• Operating motorized equipment including power tools, saws, hammers, nails, and bolts.
• Work requires alert individuals with good balance and physical strength.
• Working during inclement weather, could be exposed to extreme cold and heat, noise and dust from construction operations depending upon project site.

Minimum Qualifications

• Frequently lifting, carrying, pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds of material and up to 90 pounds of material with assistance, if requested.
• Frequently walking, stooping, kneeling, reaching and climbing.
• Frequent use of hand and power tools.

Preferred Experience

• Preference given to candidates with a minimum of 12 months of construction labor work experience. .
