Job Purpose:

Vantage Financial is a leading provider of equipment leasing solutions, specializing in facilitating access to crucial equipment across various industries. The organization is seeking a Collections Manager which will be responsible for managing the collections of outstanding accounts receivables, minimizing company losses and ensuring compliance with company policies and requirements. This role will develop strategies to improve collection rates and maintaining positive relationships with customers. Will be responsible for evaluating creditworthiness of new and existing customers by analyzing financial statements, credit reports and other relevant data.

This position will be tasked with overseeing the comprehensive management of outstanding accounts receivables, with a focus on minimizing financial losses while ensuring adherence to both company policies and legal requirements. Will create and implement advanced collection strategies aimed at optimizing recovery rates, combined with maintaining constructive and professional relationships with customers. The position requires the candidate to have strong negotiation skills, with the ability to interact confidently and effectively with senior leaders of prominent national corporations.

In addition to primary collection responsibilities, this position includes the assessment of creditworthiness for both new and existing clients through the analysis of complex financial statements, credit reports, and other pertinent data sources. Will exhibit a high degree of discretion and autonomy in decision-making which includes individual credit approval authority.

Anticipated allocation of collection and credit analyst duties is 50/50.

Job Duties:


  • Will possess a deep understanding of collection and credit analysis processes, demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking, and exhibit the capacity to influence cross-functional teams while positioning the company for sustained growth and success.
  • Design, execute, and continuously refine advanced collection strategies to enhance debt recovery outcomes and drive organizational growth.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of collection metrics, implementing adjustments to strategies as necessary to elevate performance standards.
  • Ensure that all collection practices align with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage escalated collection matters and negotiate complex payment arrangements with delinquent accounts while maintaining professionalism and customer-centric service.
  • Develop and implement robust processes for addressing and resolving disputes and complaints related to collections.
  • Foster and sustain productive relationships with customers, balancing assertiveness with high-quality service.
  • Collaborate closely with finance, customer service, and credit departments to synchronize collection initiatives with overarching organizational objectives.
  • Engage with external agencies and legal representatives as required, ensuring cohesive and strategic handling of collection matters.
  • Uphold and enforce adherence to legal and regulatory requirements governing debt collection practices.
  • Identify, evaluate, and mitigate risks associated with the collections process to safeguard the company's financial interests.
  • Maintain precise and current records of all collection-related activities and communications, providing actionable insights to senior management based on comprehensive analysis.
  • Perform detailed financial analysis, including ratio analysis, cash flow analysis, and trend evaluation to assess credit risk.
  • Make independent credit decisions that prioritize the long-term interests and financial health of the company, while carefully evaluating and mitigating potential risks.
  • Prepare and present credit reports and summaries for review by senior management or credit committees, offering well-founded recommendations on credit limits and terms.
  • Monitor credit exposure and highlight significant risks or changes, providing strategic guidance to manage and mitigate potential impacts.
  • The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of collection and credit analysis processes, demonstrate exceptional strategic thinking, and exhibit the capacity to influence cross-functional teams while positioning the company for sustained growth and success.
  • Will perform special projects as assigned.

Education, Job Skills and Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in collections and 5years of experience in credit analysis.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and negotiation skills.
  • Strong Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficiency in using collections software and CRM systems.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis and risk assessment.
  • Team player.

Basic Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in collections and 5 years of experience in credit analysis.
