Messaging - Software Engineer

Sopra Steria's Defence and Security sector are currently recruiting for a junior/mid-level Software Engineer to join the busy messaging team, and help support our clients in the public sector with the design, creation and maintenance of Microsoft Exchange Software and Infrastructures. This is an excellent learning and development opportunity for someone with relevant experience in a similar area (i.e. working on windows 10) to become a Microsoft Exchange expert Demonstrable experience working within Microsoft technologies is a must but the rest we are happy to teach

This role is based in our secure office environment in Cheltenham and requires candidates to be on call 1 week in 6. Due to the nature of the projects we also need applicants to hold (Or be eligible for) DV clearance.

What you'll be doing:

• Produce detailed software design (at appropriate level)
• Build software component
• Create integration test plans and conduct unit/link testing
• Create user documentation
• Produce Risk Analsyis and Risk Mitigation

What you’ll bring:

• Understanding of Microsoft Exchange Server (2016/19)
• Understanding of Microsoft Office 365
• Basic understanding of Microsoft Windows Powershell
• Some Project management/planning experience
• General knowledge around Software and Infrastructure Engineering principles

• Government experience
