Summary

This position is located in the Quentin N Burdick Memorial Healthcare Facility at Belcourt, ND. The purpose of the position is the provision of obstetrical and gynecological medical care (educative, curative, rehabilitative) at a primary level in a primarily outpatient setting, with inpatient care. This position functions as a Senior Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology.

Duties

• Provides patient care for Obstetrics/Gynecology patients including prevention, health maintenance, early diagnosis, treatment and follow-up services to patient(s). Assumes responsibility for the diagnosis, care and treatment of patients within their physician specialty area.
• Assures preparation of appropriate medical records for all patients seen to assure the accumulation and organization of all pertinent clinical data to provide comprehensive medical care.
• Takes a complete health and developmental history from the patient and/or family member and performs a physical examination of the patient using palpation, percussion, auscultation, observation skills, using appropriate diagnostic instruments. The care may involve highly technical, complicated techniques such as major surgical procedures (Hysterectomies, Caesarian Section, etc.).
• Refers patients as appropriate, provides full clinical information for care and diagnostic procedures.
• Works closely with allied health professionals in the provision of broad health program services, interviews and examines patients, and instructs and counsels patients.
