Quantum Magnetometer Physicist

Plainsboro, United States Twinleaf Full time

Join a small, highly-effective team to build breakthrough new quantum sensors for an extraordinarily broad range of applications, including breakthrough new neuroscience tools for biomagnetic measurements of the brain and heart, sensors for space exploration, instrumentation to define the magnetic field unit, probes into the fundamental nature of the universe, and many more using high performance atomic magnetometry. The team employs a broad range of skills in engineering, physics, computer science, electronics, optics, and manufacturing.

This job is focused on atomic physics research and development of quantum sensors with an emphasis on experimental skills. As a sensor physicist, you will conceptualize and prototype new quantum sensing techniques, and then work closely with engineers and technicians to develop practical devices and tools for use outside the laboratory. Experience in warm vapor atomic physics is ideal but not strictly required.

The work is well suited to hands-on physicists who enjoy perfecting their experiments. The ideal candidate is creative, curious, careful, detail-oriented, and particularly strong in both oral and written collaboration and interpersonal skills. We seek evidence that you are highly adaptable, independent, and quick to learn new tools and techniques.

This job is only open to US citizens. The job is in person five days a week in Plainsboro, NJ.
