Success in this role will be measured by your ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and to ensure that manufacturing strategies are aligned with product and supply chain requirements. You will work closely with engineering, design, and manufacturing teams to identify critical needs, mitigate risks, and successfully transition new products from concept to mass production.

What you’ll do

  • Design systems to optimize the best combination of man, machine, material, and method to achieve business goals.
  • Support design feedback processes by leveraging production data, benchmarks, and system performance analyses to enhance product development.
  • Participate in design and architecture reviews to ensure alignment with manufacturing, cost, and quality objectives.
  • Assist in the design, development, and qualification of manufacturing processes and equipment with both internal teams and external partners, ensuring scalability for high-volume production.
  • Help define technology readiness criteria to ensure smooth manufacturing transitions and consistent product quality and yield.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, Quality, and other cross-functional teams to ensure projects are launched on time, on budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Solve complex manufacturing challenges, ensuring that products smoothly transition from development to high-volume production.
  • Contribute to the refinement of product readiness processes and execution strategies in partnership with the NPI team.

The experience you bring

  • 6+ years of experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally within the consumer electronics or optical systems industry.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience with automated factory equipment and processes for high-volume manufacturing, especially in optical or precision assembly.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to drive projects to completion.
  • Knowledge of design for manufacturability and assembly (DFMA), process capability (CPK/MSA), and statistical analysis tools such as JMP or MATLAB.
  • Experience with Lean and Design for Six Sigma (DFSS) methodologies or equivalent.
  • Travel may be required (10~20%)

It’s exciting if you also have

  • Experience with optomechanical and systems engineering.
  • Knowledge of fabrication and assembly processes, including testing and quality methods.
  • Experience leading or contributing to cross-functional project teams.
