A reputable rural health hospital in Idaho is seeking a dedicated Hospital Laboratory Director to manage and oversee the operations of its laboratories. This opening is with a reputable 25-bed Critical Access Hospital has been recognized as one of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals in the country by The Joint Commission, which has awarded it the Gold Seal of Approval for Hospital Accreditation. The Hospital Lab Director will also be happy to know the laboratory, sleep center, and clinics at this hospital are also nationally accredited, ensuring high standards of care and service.

The Hospital Laboratory Director will be responsible for ensuring the laboratories operate in compliance with accreditation and regulatory requirements, including those of JCAHO, CMS, and CLIA. This role involves overseeing the implementation and adherence to administrative and technical policies and procedures. The Director will develop laboratory budgets, including capital equipment budgets, and seek ways to reduce expenses without compromising quality or service. Implementing new capital into clinical operations, improving efficiencies, and providing effective solutions to support quality and business objectives are also key responsibilities.

Working closely with hospital administration, staff, and physicians, the Laboratory Director will ensure optimal performance in all patient care areas. This role includes overseeing laboratory staff, providing direction and guidance, and administering director functions within the provisions of the hospital's policies, standards, and federal, state, and local regulations. Additionally, the Director will consult with the Laboratory Medical Director to resolve technical issues and recommend process improvements.

The ideal Hospital Laboratory Director will have a Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science or equivalent, with at least 3 years of leadership experience. ASCP certification is preferred.
