Clean Products Trading is part of Global Clean Products Value Chain, a cross-functional organization integral to maximizing refining output value for MPC while meeting marketing demands. Clean Products Trading actively trades all US domestic trading markets and with an increasing presence internationally. Clean Products Trading interface externally executing purchases, sales, buy-sells, and exchanges for finished gasoline and distillate as well as gasoline and diesel components dictated by refinery economics marketing demands, market conditions, and logistics to maximize economic margin consistent with safe supply chain operations and other MPC core values. This trading position should be viewed as a growth opportunity for a highly motivated individual that has a strong aptitude and a keen interest for a commercial career. This role will provide an opportunity for the successful candidate to gain an understanding of the clean products supply and trading while performing a complex and critical function.

• Interacting with Traders, Schedulers, Refinery Feedstock Coordinators, Accountants, Engineers, Analysts, Legal and other personnel in SD&P, Refining, Marketing, Product Quality, Transport & Logistics, Business Development, IT and Finance & Commercial Services and elsewhere. These interactions will be required to stay abreast of trading, logistical and financial activity, meet regulatory requirements, prepare contracts, address information queries, initiate, recommend, develop and implement existing and new acquisition or sales strategies for achieving optimum value added from clean product purchases, sales, exchanges and logistics.
• Generating and utilizing data to support external and internal performance assessments in areas of acquisition cost, price forecasts, inventory price risk management, sales netbacks, and margin contribution. Also participate on any number of interdisciplinary teams to explore and develop improved light product trading supply chain processes, tools and activity.
• Assist Clean Product Schedulers and Refinery Feedstock Coordinators and others evaluate, negotiate and arrange optimal clean product transportation and storage logistical asset utilization consistent with optimal clean product acquisition and disposition strategy and use of constrained resources
• Representing the Company at industry functions and keeping abreast of evolving industry conditions by training, reading, building and maintaining internal and external contacts related to clean products.

• Bachelor’s degree required in business, finance, marketing, economics, accounting, or related field of study

• 5 or more years of experience in trading or marketing including profit/loss responsibility for product trading and contract negotiation.
