Genesis Cancer Care Institute offers leading technology with collaborative services for radiation oncology, genetic testing, clinical trials and infusion resources. We are a community-based hospital program; locally operated, with clinics in Davenport and Clinton, IA and Silvis, IL.

Where you fit in
The Medical Physicist provides safe therapeutic radiological physics to the Radiation Oncology Department; equipment safety, quality patient care and teaching in accordance with standards put forth by regulatory agencies and the medical community. Genesis offers robust treatment plans such as SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, and 3D Conformal. The Cancer Institute employs 2 linear accelerators; TomoTherapy Hi-Art and Varian TrueBeam. Aria & Mosaiq software is used for record & verify. Eclipse and Accuray software is used for planning. Along with participating in treatment procedures, the Medical Physicist will participate in patient-specific QA, treatment chart and plan checks, and any additional support needed by our radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists.

Successful Candidate
The successful candidate will have a PhD, completed a therapy medical physics residency, be board eligible or board certified by the ABR or ABMP, and must be or become registered in Iowa as a Radiation Therapy Physicist. The successful candidate will have the skills in calibration and commissioning of linear accelerators and other radiation sources, perform quality assurance of equipment and treatment plans, patient set up and computer treatment planning proficiency, and clinical physics administration. A good work ethic and ability to work well in a team environment are highly valued.
