Duties

This position educates and informs visitors about the significance of the natural resources, about the laws, rules, and regulations relating to the protection of resources from aquatic nuisance species for the purpose of containment and/or prevention programs, and about operations and safe use resources. Performs systematic work inspecting and decontaminating boats of all types and sizes with varying internal operating systems and water intake functions. The following are a list of duties but not limited to.

  • Watercraft inspection and decontamination.
  • Boater compliance checks.
  • Facilitating visitor contacts to create understanding of park resources, aquatic nuisance species, and boater safety and responsibility.
  • Encourage visitor behavior consistent with resource use and managemen of park resources in support of the mission of National Park Service.
