Our ESG internship will give you experience that will complement the business knowledge you’ve been amassing and offer exposure to ESG, an increasingly critical area of business.  Your work will benefit the whole organization and will be foundational for Environmental / Sustainability decision making and reporting.

 

The ESG Associate, reporting to the Corporate Manager of Enterprise Risk Management, will work extensively within our new ESG platform, work with third-party service providers to obtain data, audit environmental / sustainability data, and take part in design and implementation of new ESG functionality.  The Associate will play a pivotal role in ensuring utility, waste, fuel and refrigerant data is complete, accurate and properly supported within the ESG platform.  In addition, the Associate will contribute to identifying areas for process improvement and enhancing efficiency and effectiveness within our ESG program.  Finally, the Associate will have the opportunity to learn about and work within Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), another important area of the business.


Responsibilities:

 

  • Further develop and continuously maintain the ESG data program.
  • Extract and transform data from various sources, including the ESG platform, third-party websites and internal databases.
  • Ensure data accuracy and data integrity by validating data sources and conducting quality review audits.
  • Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze ESG data and operational processes.
  • Identify opportunities for automation throughout ESG, improving workflows and streamlining repetitive tasks.
  • Continuously assess and recommend improvements to ESG processes based on data analysis and technology advancements.
  • Create visually engaging and informative dashboards and reports to present findings.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including ESG, Procurement, Accounting and Operations, to gather data, analyze and report results.

Provide ongoing support and insights for ESG and ERM functions.


Qualifications:
  • No prior ESG or audit experience is necessary, as training and guidance will be provided during the internship. Candidates must be highly motivated and able to work professionally with and without supervision.
  • Candidates should preferably be studying sustainability, business analytics, accounting, or information technology (or a major related to the Key Responsibilities above).
  • Candidates should have competency in use of cloud-based applications and ideally be skilled in use of Windows Office (Microsoft Excel as primary).
  • Excellent communication skills are a plus, as you’ll interact with managers on a regular daily basis.
  • Auditors should be willing to work approximately 40 hours per week over 5 days.
  • Candidates should be in their junior year or above at this point and have a G.P.A. of 3.00 or higher.
