Summary:
The Field Business Intelligence Team plays a meaningful role in measuring the health and success of our company's distribution system through reporting, data analytics and insights to tell a story with data using sophisticated techniques and visualization.
Consult with internal clients to determine requirements for reporting; meeting to discuss data, report format, distribution of reports. Develop and maintain high quality reports on our data platform. Ultimately helping the client understand key performance indicators used to determine company performance and display productivity of field staff and network offices.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Apply engineering best practices in order to analyze, design, develop, deploy and support software solutions.
  • Develop software using continuous Deployment and integration practices.
  • Participate in an Agile implementation and maintenance of source control and release procedures.
  • Participate in Code Reviews and feedback to the team.
  • Contribute to a collaborative work environment in which all team members are respected regardless of their individual differences and are motivated to improve both their individual and team contributions.
  • Identify data quality issues and their root causes.
  • Propose fixes and design data audits.


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • 4-5 years of professional experience.
  • At least 4 years of professional software engineering, debugging, analysis, and software documentation experience.
  • Code Knowledge Required: SQL, Data Modeling
  • Preferred Technical Experience: Databricks on AWS cloud.
  • Experience with Agile methodologies/DevOps environment.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of Data Quality and Data Concepts.
  • Intermediate to advanced understanding of Data Integration Patterns and Tooling including ELT/ETL, EII, Replication, Event Streaming, and Virtualization to support batch and real-time data needs.
  • Has or develops understanding of 4-6 subject areas/domains of data.
  • Proficient craftsman on Software and Quality Standards.
  • Advanced programming skills.
  • Ability to explain technical solutions to technical teams.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal direction.
  • Exceptional analytical, conceptual, and problem-solving skills.

Compensation Range:
Pay Range - Start:
$100,030.00
Pay Range - End:
$185,770.00
Northwestern Mutual pays on a geographic-specific salary structure and placement in the salary range for this position will be determined by a number of factors including the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; the scope, complexity as well as the cost of labor in the market; and other conditions of employment. At Northwestern Mutual, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Positions in certain locations (such as California) may provide an increase on the standard pay structure based on the location.
