Duties

The Hudson Valley Healthcare System is seeking an experienced, full time non-invasive Cardiologist (M.D. or D.O) who is Board Certified or Eligible.Duties include oversight of all aspects of cardiac care delivered to referred patients and participating in daily ambulatory/outpatient Cardiology clinic services primarily at our Hudson Valley Healthcare Systems VA Medical Center.

The Cardiologist will consult and manage and provide education and counseling of Veterans in preventative care and apply evidence-based care for an array of cardiac conditions, while also supervising comprehensive outpatient cardiac procedures.The facility has the capacity to perform a wide variety of outpatient Cardiology services including EKG and Arrhythmia monitoring interpretation, echocardiograms, exercise and pharmacologic stress echocardiograms, Transesophageal echocardiograms, and cardioversions.

The Cardiologist will establish a professional relationship with clinical service providers within the outpatient center, provide telephone and curbside consultations and screen consultative and procedural requests for appropriateness.The ability to provide telecardiology services to other Hudson Valley Healthcare System locations is a plus.

Work Schedule: M-F 8:00-4:30pm

EDRP Authorized: This position is eligible for EDRP. Program Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

Pay: Competitive salary

Licensure: 1 full and unrestricted license from any US State or territory
CME: Possible $1,000 per year reimbursement (must be full-time with board certification)
Malpractice: Free liability protection with tail coverage provided
Contract: No Physician Employment Contract and no significant restriction on moonlighting
