In our pursuit to lead the market in these emerging areas of innovation, we're in search of a dynamic and exceptional Senior Underwriter to join our Casualty team. This high-impact and Senior Underwriting role offers an extraordinary opportunity for a goal-driven, innovative, and creative individual to be challenged and contribute to the building of a high-growth portfolio.

Requirements

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

• Underwrite, price, and negotiate complex and emerging Casualty risks in a manner that is consistent with Relm's risk appetite to ensure profitability, retention, and written premium goals are achieved
• Negotiate, prepare, and draft policy and endorsement wording
• Create and develop relationships with brokers and policyholders to establish new distribution relationships and sales channels
• Attend and occasionally present at industry conferences, as needed and as the opportunity presents itself
• Collaborate with colleagues to achieve company goals and drive cross-sell opportunities
• Assist with strategic underwriting planning by developing and maintaining suitable management information to effectively evaluate the portfolio
• Maintain compliance with all internal and external underwriting and regulatory guidelines, standards, and legal requirements
• Engage in ad-hoc projects and tasks as assigned to contribute to the continuous improvement and growth of Relm

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Minimum of 5 years of Casualty insurance underwriting and/or broking experience
• A bachelor's degree, or equivalent, in business, insurance, actuarial science, or a related discipline
• Robust relationships with key BDA, US and UK wholesale and retail brokers
• Experience with policy and endorsement wording negotiation, preparation, and drafting
• Exceptional organizational and time management skills
• Creative problem-solver with strong critical thinking skills, an ethical approach to getting things done, and an ability to apply different perspectives across the spectrum
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic work environment
• A confident communicator who can clearly and authentically convey a written and verbal message, skillfully persuade, and craft a constructive argument
• Advanced skills across all Microsoft Office applications (familiarity with Mac OS is a plus)
• Excellent interpersonal skills and comfort with leading client and broker meetings
• Exceptional attention to detail and work ethic
• Ability to work outside of core hours and travel overseas, as required

NICE TO HAVE QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND EXPERIENCE:

• Professional designation in insurance underwriting, such as CPCU, ACII, AU, or similar
• Strong interest and conceptual comprehension in Alternative Therapeutics, Biotech, Autonomous Vehicles, Blockchain, Cannabis, or AI will be a differentiator
