Serves as the operational expert in the plant engineering discipline. Manages programs and projects to insure reliable and cost effective performance of gas compression and gas conditioning plants and piping systems. Responsible for scoping, resourcing, and managing predictive / preventative maintenance programs, major maintenance projects, primary equipment overhaul / replacements, process system enhancements, and technical training programs. Develops local operating policies and practices to insure compliance with federal, state, and local safety, environmental and other laws and regulations. Directs, monitors, coordinates and assists team members, company employees, and outside contractors in the completion of their work.

• Plans, organizes, and directs all plant mechanical, electrical, controls, and civil maintenance and engineering activities.
• Develops and manages operating and capital budgets to support the maintenance, engineering, and plant enhancement objectives.
• Develops and/or prepares operating and maintenance policies and practices and programs to insure safe, reliable, and cost-effective plant operations and to insure regulatory compliance (e.g., CPUC, DOT, Cal-OSHA, Cal DOGGR, EPA or local air pollution control district).
• Develops and implements predictive and preventative maintenance programs and plant process enhancements to meet plant reliability, availability, responsiveness and economic goals.
• Develops, implements, and maintains work management systems including computerized work management systems.
• Provides engineering evaluations of material, equipment or plant failures.

• Knowledge of process plant components such as two/three phase separators, adsorption and distillation towers, reciprocating and centrifugal compressors, pumps, heat exchangers, coolers, heaters, refrigeration units, fin-fan coolers, pipe flow, vapor recovery systems, generators, reciprocating engines, gas turbines, electric motors, etc.
• Knowledge of quality engineering principals (e.g., Reliability, Statistics, Design of Experiments)
• Must possess knowledge of project management theories and concepts, engineering practices and concepts, and cost analysis, and be able to apply this knowledge in daily operations.
• Must be able to identify and resolve conflicts in schedules, or the relationship of interdependent functions such as cost, schedule and quality parameters.
• Must be able to determine program or project requirements, assess the abilities within the work group and appropriately delegate to team members.
• Responsible for providing team goals and evaluation performance. Must be able to motivate personnel and deal with performance problems.
• Requires the ability to assess the potential financial impact of a project on the Company, as well as the impact on existing Company facilities and operating, marketing, and regulatory philosophies and procedures.
• Must possess the ability to review complex problems and propose innovative solutions, which involve technical, economic and strategic issues, and may link new concepts and technologies
• Knowledge of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) software (e.g., MAXIMO or SAP). Must possess strong leadership skills and demonstrate good management practices.

• Bachelor’s Degree accounting, finance, economics, related business administration field or equivalent experience Required
• Master’s Degree MBA Preferred
