Annual salary: $85,000 annually (DOE) plus 10% bonus potential

What you will do

As the Food Service Director at a senior living community, you will be at the helm of creating a culinary experience that goes beyond mere meals; it becomes an integral part of our residents' overall well-being. Your role is pivotal in fostering a dining atmosphere of casual sophistication that not only delights the palate but also promotes a sense of community, health, and satisfaction.

You will

Elevate the overall dining experience by implementing creative and engaging dining programs.
Collaborate with residents to incorporate their feedback and preferences.
Craft fresh, nutritious menus tailored to the preferences of our residents.
Incorporate fresh, seasonal, and locally sourced ingredients into daily offerings.
Lead, inspire, and mentor the culinary team to deliver excellence in food preparation, presentation, and service.
Foster a positive and collaborative kitchen culture.
Oversee kitchen operations and front-of-house dining, ensuring efficiency, cleanliness, and adherence to health and safety standards.
Implement cost-effective measures without compromising on quality.
Actively engage with residents to understand their culinary expectations and preferences.
Organize culinary events, workshops, and tastings to foster a sense of community around food; create "wow" events for residents and guests.
Foster a dining environment that becomes a focal point for socialization, community engagement, and shared experiences.

What you will need

Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Culinary Arts, Business Administration, or related field required; Master's degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in food service management, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role.
Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams to achieve performance goals and exceed customer expectations.
Proven track record of success in managing budgets, financial analysis, and cost control measures to achieve profitability targets.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, stakeholders, and team members at all levels of the organization.
Successful candidates must meet eligibility criteria, including the ability to undergo and successfully complete a criminal background check and drug screen in accordance with applicable State laws and regulations.
