Essential functions (job duties):

POSITION PURPOSE

Provide technical knowledge and assistance in application development and maintenance of the mission-critical Enterprise Applications, their integrations/interfaces, and supported business processes. This entry-level technical position will collaborate closely with developers, other C&IT teams, and functional users in all aspects of the application development, testing, and implementation. This position will report to Director of Administrative Applications in Computing & Information Technology.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Collaborate with a technical team (architects, other developers, project managers, etc.) to design and develop technical solutions meeting business needs and customer requirements including designing, coding, testing, and deploying applications built on selected technical stacks consisting of a combination of technologies used to build and run an application or project. Produce high-quality code meeting project task deadlines, following development standards, and ensuring the functionality matches the requirements.

Analyze and resolve technical and application problems (i.e., troubleshooting/debug). Provide on-call application support as necessary.

Prepare technical documentation, user manuals, and other documentation including operation and maintenance of application software.

Assist the project team in collecting and documenting customer's requirements, producing deliverables such as detailed design documentation and unit test plan, making feasible technical solution recommendations based on user needs, and preparing project estimates on resource and timeline.

Continually improving coding skills, participating in code reviews and quality assurance activities, taking trainings in relevant technical fields, etc.

Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree and/or actively seeking for degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Systems, or related field.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 1 year of work experience in software or web development.

Solid knowledge of programming languages.

Basic programming experience.

Strong desire to learn.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Knowledge of SQL.

Knowledge of databases and operating systems.

Knowledge of LAMP.

Familiarity with version control concepts.

Ability to follow instructions and work in a team environment.

Strong analytical skills.

Highly developed attention to detail.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Good working knowledge of email systems, Microsoft Office Softwares, and/or Microsoft 365 suite.

Ability to learn new software and technologies quickly.
