Position Summary:
The Sr. Manager, Warehouse & Logistics plans, organizes, and monitors the end-to-end operations for Straumann’s warehousing and distribution operation in Andover, MA. This leader will ensure a smooth and consistent operation so dental implants and supplies are located and distributed effectively and efficiently to satisfy internal and external customer requirements. In addition to delivering daily key results (Safety, Quality, Service Levels, FDA Compliance, staffing/retention, cost, etc.), this role is accountable for developing and implementing a long-range warehouse vision, strategies, and tactics. Systemic tools such as SAP, Lean, Six Sigma, and project management will be used to engage and drive all levels of the organization in achieving this vision.


Job Responsibilities:
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following (* indicates essential function):
•    Responsible for the warehouse operations teams’ daily activities of goods receipt, storage, picking & packing, accurate shipment of goods and analysis in an FDA regulated environment.
•    Leading and supervising a team of warehouse leaders and staff.
•    Maintains process management, productivity measures/KPIs, and quality controls.
•    Reviews, tracks, and analyzes critical success measures and compares the results with the targets on a regular basis. 
•    Develops and plans for improvement in areas such as order filling errors, late deliveries, and overall service levels. 
•    Evaluates leaders and associates’ performance in achieving standards.
•    Enforces compliance with all appropriate policies, procedures, safety rules and government regulations.
•    Constant collaboration with internal team for continuous improvement and lean ideas.
•    Studies current and future needs of the company as it relates to the management of receiving, stocking, inventory, returns, shipping, and order filling; develops and recommends improvements to current warehouse practices to promote efficiency, accuracy, faster service, and lower costs.
•    Ensures the warehouse is organized and tidy utilizing 5S principles.
•    Assists in the preparation of the department budget and manages operations to the budget.
•    Daily communication with Warehouse, Supply Chain and Regulatory Teams. 
•    Assist with Special Projects as required.
•    Deals effectively with a wide variety of people both in person and over the phone.
•    Seeks out opportunities to partner with other people, teams, and departments to achieve goals.
•    Focuses on serving the needs of both internal and external customers and stakeholders.
•    Other duties as assigned.


Management Responsibilities:
This position manages the following positions: 
(3) Warehouse Supervisors, (3) Team Leads, and (60) Warehouse Associates

 

Physical Attributes:
•    May sit/stand for prolonged periods of time.
•    Traverse long distances through the building.
•    Push/pull/carry up to 50 lbs. 
•    Bend, crouch and reach continuously while performing required job tasks.
•    Spend significant time reading both on paper and on a computer.


Work Environment:
•    General warehouse environment.
•    Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.


Minimum Qualifications:
•    Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Engineering Management or similar professions

•    3+ years of increasing warehouse leadership roles


Preferred Qualifications: 
•    Outstanding organizational and leadership skills to reliably respond to urgent situations.
•    Solid Analytical skillset
•    Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•    High level of personal accountability and creating an accountability structure for their team.
•    Excellent oral and written communication skills.
•    Experience in an FDA regulated environment.
•    Experience or the ability to learn SAP.
•    Outstanding organizational and leadership skills to reliably respond to urgent situations.
•    Solid Analytical skillset
•    Ability to manage deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
•    High level of personal accountability and creating an accountability structure for their team.
