Site Surveyor

Description
Responsible for traveling to customers’ homes and businesses in order to gather data and key metrics important to the residential solar process. The data gathered will include photos, roof dimensions, and information regarding the age and condition of the customer’s home.
This position requires travel.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Assess job site conditions upon arrival.
- Measure roof planes, vents, dormers, and chimneys.
- Measure and access attic structure and condition.
- Capture shade reading.
- Draw, document, and photograph roofs, attic and site.
- Upload site assessment documentation into cloud storage with company software.
- Additional duties required as needed.
Requirements
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to safely handle power tools and hand tools as well as materials such as: ladders, inverters, solar panels, panel boards, batteries, and other similar electrical equipment, lumber, roofing materials, etc.
- Excellent customer service and strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Computer skills preferred.
- Ability to work well with others in a collaborative team environment.
Education and Experience:
- Experience in roof work, general construction, or carpentry preferred.
- High School diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience with solar or construction preferred.
- Must have a valid state driver’s license.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to work at great heights including on rooftops, climbing ladders, and stairs.
- Prolonged periods of repetitious duties including kneeling, bending, crouching, and climbing ladders.
- Must be able to lift up to 70 lbs.
- Ability to work in extreme environments (example: hot sun, cold, etc).
