Primary Objective & Scope of Position:
This position is a critical value-add role within the Slumberland finance and accounting team which partners with various levels of the organization to drive cost efficiencies, process improvement and financial ownership. You will be responsible for timely and accurate financial month end close and reporting, business case modeling and check adjust, process optimization, and accurate financial planning for the business. This role will be responsible for leading cross functional financial analysis tasks, leading process improvements and optimization opportunities in the effort of driving towards a best-in-class finance and accounting team.
Essential Functions and Accountabilities:
Core Responsibilities
- Responsible for providing operational finance support to cross functional teams.
- Key contributor to month end close process.
- Identifying and optimizing accounting and operational processes to drive automation and cost control.
- Analyze month end results, prepare reporting, and provide financial insights to management. Partner closely with the accounting team to understand material month end transactions.
- Genuine desire to explore new functionality and provides recommendations to cross functional teams for opportunities to enhance processes and procedures.
- Analyze trends in financial data and provide timely, relevant, and accurate reporting and analysis, cross functionally. Understand key drivers in the financial statements and highlight to management to support business decisions.
- Partner with cross functional teams to deliver an accurate quarterly forecast.
- Proactively seek opportunities to drive efficiency in processes and offer insights into nonvalue added tasks and offer financial support.
- Provides insightful business partnership and thought leadership throughout the organization.
- Independently identifies and leads complex optimization activities, partnering with subject matter experts and business leaders to evaluate and implement.
- Proactively identify risks and opportunities in business operations, identify recommendations and effectively communicate to management team Manage multiple projects to deliver exceptional business partnerships across the organization.
- Provide NetSuite admin support including report development, account structure, and consistently seeking opportunities to maximize output of the system and establishing best practices.
- Responsible for maintaining financial allocation methodologies to ensure accuracy of costs by department.
People Development

Communication and Leadership
- Use and support the operating excellence tools: strategy A3's, work structure, tactical plans, meeting compass & problem solving documents.
- Establish and maintain strong collaborative relationships with management, your peers and team members. Collaborate with other individuals and teams to complete tasks and facilitate improvement projects.
- Manage vendor relationships through a defined meeting cadence and supplier scorecard.
- Be visible to all teams and all employees.
- Be available on a consulting level to our franchise group.
Measurements and Reporting
- Actively engage in sharing the story behind results and communicating the expectation ahead. Seek to communicate why results were achieved, drivers behind exceeding or missing plan and actions put in place to hit or exceed targets.
- Proactively partner with business leaders to communicate and measure results.
Requirements
Knowledge & Education Requirements:
- 3+ years of professional experience in similar financial roles.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance or related discipline.
- Advanced level of proficiency with excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data cleansing)
- Preferred knowledge of NetSuite
Physical Demands/Work Environment/Equipment:
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and utilize senses such as vision, speech and hearing.
