About Our Client
My client is an asset manager based in Darien Connecticut. The firm is in growth mode and hiring a hands on controller to join the team.
Job Description
Establish and oversee all financial accounting processes and procedure, including accounts payable and receivable, fixed assets, credit, general ledger, payroll, and all related accruals.Ensure timely and accurate monthly closePrepare/review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports as required.Drive implementation and integration of the firm's accounting and financial systems, including at subsidiary level.Supervise current contract accounting resources in payroll processing and compliance, tax preparation and filing, financial statement compilation, and audit support.Determine appropriate accounting staffing requirements for all business areas.Participate in strategic financial planning, including periodic budget preparation and ongoing forecast processes.Establish and document critical accounting policies and procedures that align with industry/GAAP standards.Identify and support the implementation of financial control policy improvements.Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal laws andProvide ad hoc financial analysis to establish business cases for existing and upcomingAs the organization grows, assist in hiring, and manage and mentor team members in the finance and accounting department.Assist other departments with important functional and operational decisions that are driven by financial measures.Support the administrative aspects of Company management including the development and improvement of processes, metrics, and designed for management reporting and other internal This will include design and build of reporting intended for investors and other stakeholders

CPA Qualified Accountant with Big 4 audit experience in hedge funds or asset managementHands on controller or assistant controller experience at another asset manager, energy or financial services firmStrong organizational, time management, and oral and written communicationHigh attention toAbility to prioritize and meet deadlines without sacrificing quality of workAbility to work independently and collaboratively, depending on theStrong Excel skills with a solid understanding of data management to ensure accurate calculations and high data quality.Ability to work in Darien Connecticut - in office 3 days per week.
