Salary starts at $17.00/hr
Minimum Required Qualifications
3 years of experience in maintenance, repair, or construction activities in one or more of the craft disciplines.
Demonstrates self-management and independent judgment.
Strong orientation to customer service, and excellent interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
Knowledge of safety hazards and appropriate precautionary methods involved in building maintenance, repair, and construction activities.
Ability to perform general construction, repair, maintenance, and keying activities.
Ability to maintain, transport, and repair shop equipment and tools.
Ability to read blueprints and prepare sketches of equipment or fixtures to be repaired.
Ability to inspect common electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry, mechanical systems, fixtures, and equipment to determine defects and the extent of needed repairs.
Skill in the use of tools and equipment utilized in a variety of craft disciplines and maintenance areas safely.
Understands local, state, and federal building codes along with departmental policies and procedures.
Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with the general public and a diverse staff and student population.

Valid Nebraska Drivers License and driving record acceptable to the University’s
automobile insurance provider.
