City of Hope Medical Group Seeks an Orthopeadic Surgeon to Join our Team in Duarte, CA

The Department of Surgery, Division of Orthopeadic Surgery, is seeking a board-certified fellowship trained orthopeadic surgeon to meet the needs of our growing programs in Southern California. This individual is expected to support our clinical and research programs in Orthopeadic Surgery with an 90% clinical /10% academic obligation. Scholarly contributions to further the academic mission of the division will be expected such as translational and/or outcomes research, and participation in clinical trials. The Orthopeadic Surgeon can look forward to providing patient-centered care in collaboration with a world class, nationally recognized multidisciplinary team of oncology providers.

**Postion Highlights:**

· Help build a high-volume orthopedic oncology surgical practice centered on personalized patient care.

· Establish City of Hope as a leader in musculoskeletal care for cancer patients with a focus on sarcoma, bone tumors/bone cancer, and soft Tissue Tumors/soft Tissue Cancer.

· Collaborate with clinical and scientific leaders that are rapidly advancing our pediatric/AYA and adult bone tumor programs.

· Clinical sites in San Gabriel Valley in Southern California

· 90% Clinical and 10% academic obligations; The position entails 4 1/2 days of clinical work (clinic and OR) and a ½ day protected day for administrative/scholarly achievements.

· Base Salary Range only: $350k-500k. The range listed is exclusively for base compensation for full-time employment and does not include incentive compensation or benefits. Actual compensation will be adjusted for experience, training, hospital/community need and other factors. **QUALIFICATIONS**

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE

· Experience with both adult and pediatric/AYA bone tumors/cancer is preferred

· Academic record consistent with appointment at Assistant or Associate Professor level at City of Hope National Medical Center.

· High levels of integrity and honesty

· Strong written and oral communication skills

· Collaborative, adaptable, flexible to change and ability to lead teams through change

· Exceptional interpersonal skills including relationship-building, communication, listening, and negotiation diplomacy

EDUCATION, LICENSURE AND CERTIFICATIONS

§ M.D. OR D.O. from an accredited educational institution and boarded in respective specialty

§ Preferably, fellowship trained and boarded in Orthopaedic Surgery and by the American Board of Surgery

§ Possession of, or eligibility for, unrestricted medical license in the State of California
