Patient Care Tech - PCT - Medical Oncology Center

Sibley Memorial Hospital, a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine, has a distinguished history of serving the community since its founding in 1890. As a not-for-profit and full-service community hospital, Sibley offers medical, surgical, intensive care, obstetric, oncology, orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services, as well as a 24-hour Emergency Department. Sibley’s campus is also home to Grand Oaks, an assisted living residence, a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers.

The Patient Care Tech is a critical part of the Patient Care Team and works in a collaborative relationship with the Registered Nurse (RN) and other members of the multidisciplinary healthcare team. This certified role observes patients, provides basic nursing care (including IV's, blood draws and EKG's), and maintains the patient environment in an outcome-oriented, safe, therapeutic, compassionate, and cost-effective manner.

Qualifications:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Certified Nursing Assistance license or equivalent, comparable training/job experience and ability to demonstrate needed skills.
  • CPR American Heart Association CPR/BLS certification is required.
  • training is required; basic life support training/certification.
  • Two (2) years clinical experience of which at least one (1) year is oncology experience preferred.
