EUROIMMUN US is seeking a Histology Technician. The incumbent for the position will be a valuable addition to the Manufacturing department. The incumbent will play an active role in daily production activities of the medical device(s) manufactured in the facility. Participate in various day-to-day activities within manufacturing department including but not limited to inventory management, production planning, production, in-process QC, etc. All work responsibilities to be performed carefully and accurately to meet the high-quality standard of the company.
The Histology Technician will report to the Production Manager.
Responsibilities:
The Histology Technician will perform the various tasks required for receiving, processing, and preparing tissue specimens to serve as a critical raw material for subsequent production activities. This may include logging, batching, cutting, mounting, and other procedures
Essential responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Utilize a freeze cutter to produce frozen tissue sections to be used in our assays.
- Subsequently, position the tissue sections onto suitable carrier glass for further processing.
- Proficiently pack the carrier glasses and ensure their subsequent storage.
- Participate in day-to-day production activities accurately following detailed work instructions, processes, and procedures.
- Identify quality and defects within process, product, or equipment.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
- Maintain appropriate records and complete other production related paperwork.
- Provide training to coworkers as needed.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform other delegated tasks, as required.
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures and comply with all safety and regulatory requirements.

Basic Qualifications:
- HS diploma or GED and 3 years of experience as a laboratory technician
OR
- Associate degree and 2 years of experience as a laboratory technician
OR
- Bachelor’s degree and 1 year of experience as a laboratory technician
Preferred Qualifications:
- prior experience as a histology technician
- HT (ASCP), HTL (ASCP), or equivalent certification
- Ability to read, comprehend, and follow procedures written in English.
- Good oral or written communication skills.
- Keen attention to detail and problem-solving skills; deadline-driven work ethic.
- Team players who perform well in a steady or fast-paced environment.
- Well-organized, ability to work efficiently and independently with minimum supervision.
- Proactive, planning and exhibits a high level of critical thinking abilities
